City of Murals
There’s just something about Vodnjan that seems to bring out the creative spirit in people. As a result, the town is thriving with artistic expression which can be seen in more than forty murals painted on the facades of many Vodnjan’s buildings during both the Street Art and Boombarstick Festival.
If you are more of a keen walker you’ll probably get lost in the maze-like streets but we guarantee you’ll stumble on some of our murals by accident. Apart from viewing the street art you can visit some of the local galleries such as Apoteka – an art space that is home to contemporary art. On the other hand, during summer, El Magazein gallery hosts events such as art exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings and book presentations, lectures, theatre performances and fashion shows.
