St. Germain

About 200 m to the east of Mednjan, remnants of the big, three-aisled basilica, built in honour of St. Germain, can be found. It was a rectangular triple-nave church with three apses, dating back probably to the second half of the 6th century. The church dimensions are 21.5 m in length 12.5 m in width. Only part of the northern wall is preserved until today, up to the height of 2 m, as well as part of the northern apse. The remnants of the basilica were discovered in 2008, when the owner of the site decided to remove the overgrown vegetation.
